Why is it so important to do newborn photos within the first week or two?

Generally speaking newborns under 14 days new are easier to pose and get into those cute curly poses we all love and adore. But not only that, all newborns have a certain "look" to them. Usually within a week or two, that newborn-like quality starts to disappear. The point of newborn photos is to capture that newborn look, so I always recommend photographing as early as possible.
I'm based in Whiteheads Creek just out of Seymour and yes, I travel! I no longer have a studio I work from, so all sessions will be in-home or at a location of your choice. If you want me to photograph your story, it may require a travel fee, depending on where it takes place. Travel fees are generally only added if the travel time is over 30 minutes each way. But this is always discussed with you prior to your sessions.
You will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within maximum 4 weeks. You will receive a link via email where you can not only download all the photos from the gallery but also share them & choose your favorites to order as prints & products so you can display them around your home.
I prefer cash on the day of your session but you can also pay via direct deposit, credit card or paypal. I require a non refundable session fee of $100 to secure your session date (this can be paid via direct deposit, credit card or cash), this comes off your package price once your session has been held.
The short answer is whatever you feel comfortable in; jeans, black or white tee (no logos please), maxi dresses, long skirts, anything you would normally wear.
I also ask you wear similar colour pallettes to each other, you dont have to be exactly matching. This is so no one stands out more than the other in your images!
Feel free to bring multiple accessories to play with throughout your session. We love hats, jewellery, shoes, hair barrettes or bands, ties, watches and anything else you can think of. These details can make your session really fun.

If it rains on the day of your shoot, we can reschedule for another day. If it's just a little gloomy, we can often still shoot outdoors without a problem. In fact, cloud coverage makes for some gorgeous photographs.
This is completely normal, especially for young children and we get it. Kids are unpredictable and sometimes they can dig their little heels in and just not want to play the game. Young children don't always understand whats happening & don't always pose or participate as easily as adults do. They can be unsure about the photo session & what they are suppose to do. But this is totally okay! When this happens, we will simply take a little break, allow you to calm your child down by talking/feeding/playing and then take the appropriate steps to easing back into the session. We will never force photos or send you on your way. That's a promise!
Of course. We love it when people share our photographs. We just ask that you don't edit the images in anyway. If you edit the images, it's not a true representation of my work. And if you could link our webpage, Facebook or Instagram on any of your other images you'd like to share, when possible, we would really love it!
